Well, its nice that she feels empowered and all, but I think she is letting her father win. She will regret her decision one day. She was bound by a patriarchal power over her and now she is victim of a patriarchal exploitation. The article above doesn’t paint her life as being all that great and whether or not this is a bias in the journalist’s writing - it is a genuine fall from grace. If she were able to use her mind she should surely have found a better solution to her problems than this. Again, she will one day regret what she is now doing.
